In 2005 I became the production manager for a newly-formed vaudeville circus troupe based in Downtown Los Angeles, called Lucent Dossier. In their profile in L.A. Weekly’s 2009, “People” issue, attending a Lucent Dossier show is described as experiencing “A world that doesn’t exist, a place where the future and the past happen simultaneously, as if under some big top in a David Lynch dream sequence.” The photo on the left is from the very first Lucent Dossier cast shoot.
These days, Lucent tours and performs at music festivals all over the world, most notably, Coachella, and Lightning in a Bottle. Along the way, they’ve left an indelible mark on popular culture. |
